Burswood Campus

Project type:
Large-scale commercial

Location:
Burswood, WA

Client:
State City Investments
On the fringe of the city, our vision for this project saw us create a workplace campus that feels elevated and light in its urban setting. The design comprises two commercial buildings that appear to hover above the ground, their structure driven by an innovative timber system. This approach allows for expansive, column-free floorplates – spaces that give tenants an uncommon sense of flexibility and openness.

The choice of timber was about more than structure; it was about experience. The use of timber not only reduces the building’s carbon footprint, but it brings a warm, natural materiality that supports wellbeing. Triangular in plan, each building features a side core and generous central atrium that floods the interiors with natural light encouraging movement, interaction, and a dynamic workplace culture.

At ground level, the buildings open onto lush, landscaped gardens, creating a seamless connection between indoors and out. This activated public realm enhances the arrival experience and supports a vibrant, community-focussed lifestyle with a range of amenities designed for convenience, connection and wellbeing.

Inside, tenants and visitors can enjoy a curated mix of cafés and restaurants, flexible work club-style spaces ideal for informal meetings or focussed work, and an open, welcoming lobby that encourages gathering and interaction. Additional features such as on-site childcare and premium end-of-trip facilities further elevate the experience, bringing everyday ease to a modern workplace campus.
